My Favorite Look From Chanel Spring Couture 2013
The closure of a buttoned down dress done up to the puckered skirt was one of the best parts from one of my favorite looks from the Chanel Spring 2013 Haute Couture collection by Karl Lagerfeld. With lace hair and jeweled ears, the look is done up with a manage of twisted and braided hair and a whole lot of dark eye liner. This fluttering look was obviously created by the genius, Karl Lagerfeld who’s creativity was shelled into the vessel of virginity and purity and not unlike a bullet there’s an unmistakable err of sexual magnetism.
The dropped shoulder with white “blouse-top” underneath reminded me of the scene in “The Devil Wears Prada” where Anne Hathaway walks down a New York Street in an all Chanel Look pondering the fate of her superior while contemplating her own selfish feelings of natural progression and promotion. I love that scene. Not as much as I enjoy the off the shoulder silhouette she was wearing though. I feel like the clothes not only added to the event but exemplified its greatness.
The angle above gives you a clear view of the detailed knit used in the dress as well as the simply couture bow tie that rests atop the front of the poplin dress that sits underneath the off-the-shoulder navy dress.
The thick patent leather belt holds a jewel encrusted flower on its buckle and is as perfectly placed as everything else in the look. I can’t imagine anyone not wanting to wear this outfit.
Most of the lace boots were sandals but the pair that were paired with this outfit were a patent leather pointed toe boot that seemed loose in the leg and unfitted in the ankles and knees. Why it was loose was a mystery but the navy lace on the shoe was contrasted by black leather on the heel and toe. This blend should simplify combining black and navy which has always been a pain in the @ss!
And here it is in all its glory! What do you think? Is it your favorite look from the collection? Why or Why not?
