Dolce and Gabbana Alta Moda Show in Italy
The news has been out for sometime that Dolce and Gabbana will be releasing their first haute couture collection for Fall 2012 but the fact is it is still huge news to see one of the biggest names in the business move up in the fashion world with this exciting new venture. The designers have obviously had a magnificent time building their fortune and future by buying private jets, yachts…
now it was time for the Italian designers to focus on their passion, designing. Creating a line that was comparable to old style Chanel was their initial intent when they launched their first collection but with a trepidations climate in the financial world, the Alta Moda collection has had to wait for 27 years to be launched.
The birth of the line represented a massive movement toward exclusive luxury items and preferential treatment for the Dolce and Gabbana aristocratic shopper. This lap of luxury service included flying some of the brands most affluent clients to teh show in a private jet, picing them up in private Mercedes-Benz with drivers and boating them to the island where there was an opera beforehand, then the next day was the show. As amazing as all that seems the show was truly the icing on the cake. If you can believe it, the most exclusionary detail has been saved for last. The 73 looks that walked the grounds of the former monastary of San Domenico are being sold only once per look. Sure one buyer could buy the entire line and never sell another piece, but seeing as how the looks were so extravagant, it can be imagined that these pieces would only be fitting to a select few not to mention the price tag.the lace for each look exclusively making the looks unique to the couples dignified tastes.
With admiration and excitement we congratulate the team at Dolce and Gabbana for their accomplishments and success in taking this next step in their business. Welcome to the wonderful world of haute couture… or Alta Moda! Congratulazioni!
