Fifty Shades of Grey in Fashion
So it’s no surprise that the film of films: Fifty Shades of Grey, got mixed reviews, but let’s be honest… I enjoyed it… but how can I possibly talk about the popular film when it comes to my fashion blog? Well right now for guys and gals alike, grey is an intense trend hitting catwalk after catwalk like an unmotivational neutral toned tsunami.
Step aside White Hot… enter Grey Gorgeous
Grey was everywhere in Milan and Paris. It was at Marni and Dsquared² in Italy and at Dries van Noten and Louis Vuitton in France among others. Grey fur, grey suede, green-grey, grey-brown it was EVERYWHERE. Like a venereal disease after fulfilling some kinky role-play fantasy without protection! Play safe kids. Play safe and wear grey.
I got really excited when I saw the Louis show. nearly every piece had this animated microscopic thread design in exploded weaves. They were showstopping. Albeit most of the collection was eyesome, the black and grey pieces were what really stood out. I’m at the point of making a Louis Vuitton coat “swear jar” and depositing $5 every time I say any number of character spoiling curses.
But moving on from clothing, grey has always been a strong color in the world of accessories. From Prada to Stella Mccartney, grey is that elusive best seller that goes with everything. The unassuming color also pairs well with nearly any day look you can throw together. Grey is boss so wear it well.
For handbags I have my favorites from this season below (both from Prada):
