Men, your closet for Fall 2015 is going to look a little dull
With the centennial anniversary celebration of the war at hand, black seems to be the new black. I was flipping through images of recent Milan menswear shows and to be frank, taking a dump was more eventful.
All black… more epaulets… oversized writing on more black (not to mention all the words are spelled truly British like Valour and Honour, annoying)… It seems excitement left the room the same time subtlety did. Yeash.
Image after image of more satin-y fabric, of oversized boxy silhouettes, of unnatractive models and clothing. An utter Snore-fest.
I really hope no one important attended any of these shows. Like a dignitary or something. Because they would have been all smiles until they were ushered into their black cars after the shows then all hell would have broken loose. “Why do you insist on taking me to these events Trish? You know I hate fashion and if I wanted to see all black I would have gone to a nunery. In fact, that would have been more fun! My mother was right about you!”
Anyway a little color could have helped to avoid this potential domestic dispute and what will be known as the fashion doldrums of 2015.
There was a war
I am grateful for my freedoms
I respect those that fought and died in the war
I do not need to be depressed by fashion to be reminded of any of it.
At the end of the day, if you don’t want to look like you are going to a funeral… swap out your head for a lively bunch of bananas… and as an ADDED BONUS (well, aside from looking like the life of any party) you can take one of the peels and polish your patent leather shoes… Did you know that?
