It’s Nearly Here and I’m Quite Literally Aflame!
The Chimerical Feeling
Imagine the newest ride at Disneyland standing before you in all its hype, its megalithic proportion, its sheer presence… the door opens, you get in and smell that familiar scent of newness. The safety rails strap you in and your heart begins to pound. The ride starts and you’re climbing, Climbing… CLIMBING. Up, up, up, above the amusement park where you’re free to spot your next incredible trill, or prepare to scream your face off.
Just when you reach a sense of peace and calm, the floor is taken from below you and you’re falling… like… FALLING! It’s terrifying and wonderful all at the same time. And as the ride starts to slope you realize you’re safe and having the time of your life.
The ride’s finished… on to the next one.
The Optical Overload
Come August I get to beef up my muscles… my superior rectus muscle of course! That’s in your eye… not your butt, just to clarify. My pupils will be darting back and forth over the torrential amount of ocular confection. And, if you haven’t figured it out yet… here’s another spoiler into what I’m looking forward to in August.
The Transcendental Fashion
Like kissing god full on the lips I am reborn every September. The pages upon pages that Coddington, Wintour, Bailey, Tonchi, Myers, Peres, Nelson and so many greats have personally touched and spent days AND evenings slaving over are my personal drug. They are perfection.
From runway to back alley trends, the ads and shoots hint ever so aggressively at what you must own for the coming season. Pages of intrepid accessories stealing the gaze of hungry fashion victims who’ll beg, borrow or even steal (Bling Ring reference (loved it)) these coveted pieces just to look that certain de rigueur. Piles of Couture spill onto my lap as I swim through my real-life dream land.
My budget is already spent for which September issue fashion mags I’m picking up and I can’t wait to sit down with a extra-hot venti SKVL (light foam (in case you were paying attention)) or two… and read through my volumes of style for Fall 2014.
Oh and do me a solid…
Don’t disturb.
