Jeffrey Fashion Cares Runway Show

 An important event took place last night and it was a powerful presentation of fashion in support of the LGBT community and those with HIV/AIDS.

The Jefferey Fashion Cares Runway Show is a once a year star studded fundraiser that prides itself on donating the absolute top dollar to those impacted by the treacherous virus in a way that says we’re fashionable, fabulous, and united to end HIV/AIDS with compassion and much needed funds. The event showcased the designs from fashion’s elite such as Prada, Gucci, Diesel, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Etro and many other design houses. The silent auction usually raises a ton of money for the cause but the sponsorship from some of the worlds most coveted brands including Lexus (who is a new Gold level ($50,000.00+) sponsor this year) Belvedere Vodka/Moet Hennessy, Nordstrom, and W Hotels Worldwide/Starwood Preferred Guests are where the real generosity is seen.

Fundraisers have a bad reputation of being dull and a little cheesy with bad food, but last nights show was incredible with high end fashion, great auction items, and supr hot male models. The hunky men who walked the runway were clad in suits, colorful looks, and at times, barely anything at all. This is of course to showcase the bathing suits for Resort 2012 and to showcase some perfect abdominals. Without a doubt there is no way the event head, Jeffrey Kalinsky, would throw a party and not have a half naked man… but it’s all for charity so the more the merrier!

Without a shadow of a doubt the fashionable attendees including: Andrej Pejic and Michael Kors to name a few brought in a respectable amount of money for the cause but the smokin hot male models… attracted the rest!

CHLOË SEVIGNY TO CHAIR 2012 JEFFREY FASHION CARES, ANNUAL LGBT FASHION FUNDRAISER

 Inaugural Award recognizes philanthropist Terrence Meck’s impact across wide range of LGBT issues; Lexus joins Gold sponsors of event

 New York, NY, February 10, 2012 – Jeffrey Fashion Cares, the annual fashion fundraiser benefiting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community and those with HIV/AIDS, today announced that Terrence Meck, founder and executive director of The Palette Fund, will receive its first annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares Community Leadership Award. The award, honoring an individual or organization who has both professionally and personally benefited the lives of LGBT people and those living with HIV/AIDS, will be given at this year’s Jeffrey Fashion Cares event, to be held at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on March 26. Oscar-nominated actress and fashion icon Chloë Sevigny will be the Honorary Chair for this year’s event.

 “We created the award to recognize people who have affected change on a wide range of fronts to the benefit of the LGBT community, much like Jeffrey Fashion Cares itself, which provides funding to organizations working on LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS, and at-risk youth,” said Jeffrey Kalinsky, founder of Jeffrey Fashion Cares. “Though the Palette Fund is a recent supporter of JFC, the work that Terrence has done to benefit these causes for many years with his directed giving, both through through the fund and personally, made him the obvious choice for our inaugural Community Leadership Award.”

 The Palette Fund has renewed it’s inaugural Diamond $100,000 sponsorship for this year’s event, bringing its total donations to Jeffrey Fashion Cares to more than $300,000. For the first time, this year’s event will also be sponsored by Lexus at the Gold ($50,000) level, which will include bringing one of its cars onto the Intrepid. The company joins other returning Gold sponsors including Belvedere Vodka/Moet Hennessy, Nordstrom, and W Hotels Worldwide/Starwood Preferred Guests.

 Terrence Meck will receive the award for his work as the Executive Director of The Palette Fund, a private foundation that honors the legacy of his late partner Rand Harlan Skolnick through collaborative grant making and programs that value human rights and education. Since its inception in 2009, the Palette Fund has granted more than $2.5 million to organizations working in a variety of programming areas, including the LGBT community, patient navigation, and nutrition.

 Over the last eight years, Jeffrey Fashion Cares New York has raised nearly $4 million for LGBT, LGBT youth, and HIV/AIDS organizations in New York City. This year’s event will raise funds through ticket sales and a silent auction for four organizations: Lambda Legal; The Hetrick-Martin Institute; the AIDS Community Research Initiative of America (ACRIA); and The Point Foundation.
