Louis Vuitton is Twisting Things Up
I worked in ladies handbags for about a year as the Fendi handbag specialist and the best part… the BEST part, was that the Fendi handbags were situated right beside the Louis Vuitton boutique and I got to see all the new pieces as they came in. I was there when they introduced damier geant for the first time… well not the first first time… but the Marc Jacobs first time… and I was oohing and aahing then. Today I opened my Vogue and saw the first of what can only be described as a revolution in Louis Vuitton handbags.
When the silhouette of a bag changes it’s one thing, when a new fabrication is introduced into a brand of note like Louis Vuitton, it’s a completely other thing. But when the logo of a brand changes to accommodate for innovation on a handbag… call the fashion police! To CELEBRATE! And tell them to bring champagne! it’s gonna be a party!
By twisting the logo, you open the bag. Genius! Okay it’s not revolutionary per se… BUT it is pretty exciting if youre into that sort of thing and I am and I’m pretty sure you are too because you’re still reading this.
The new collection for Spring 2015 includes some pretty swanky epi leather colors including sky blue, cherry red and black all with the chain-link fence white overlay. The sliding chain has a comfortable shoulder pad and inside there’s a removable mirror, so… style meets beauty. #perfection
When it comes to Louis… they know how to make a handbag and the Twist Malletage is a perfect example of the brands innovation and desire to best themselves. Which.. I imagine… must get more and more difficult each season.
Meanwhile… Marc Jacobs delivers a crazy amazing collection for his ready to wear line for Fall 2015. But that’s another story.
