HUGE NEWS! I’m Getting a Puppy!
Alright so my partner and I have decided it’s time to take the plunge and get a puppy. We’re both mature enough now that cleaning up a little doggy doo doo won’t kill us and nor will taking the cute little mutt out for a walk however many times a day it wants. But the huge question is… Maltipoo or Pomsky?
Now don’t get me wrong I’m not just going to jump into owning a pupp JUST because it’s cute and has celebrity status… I am going to do a thorough amount of research in regards to the breeders, their parents, etc. But so far from what I’ve read these breeds have great temperaments and do really well around other dogs and kids. With proper research into the breeders and parents/history I can see if the pup will have any health problems including hips or eyes etc. and I recommend everyone do this if you are serious about getting a new dog and holding the breeders accountable.
Okay now that the serious stuff is out of the way which breed? Which breed? The Maltipoo is hypoallergenic and has very little pet dander while the Pomsky is very intelligent and easily trained. Blake Lively has a Maltipoo and is seen holding it all the time which is makes it the perfect accessory but I like a fully functional dog. Will the Matlipoo be too much of a lap dog to play fetch with? I feel like Husky’s are strong sturdy dogs and therefore the mini Maltipoo won’t allow it’s size to stop it from being a regular active dog.
OH GOD THEY’RE SO CUTE!
Okay well I am stumped because they are both just so adorable I honestly can’t decide which one to get. I’m nervous to visit a breeder because whichever one I go to first will be the breed I take home with me. Not quite an impulse adoption, but the next closest thing.
Then again… maybe I can get both???
Please leave me a comment about which breed you personally prefer to help me with this impossible decision. I’m SO EXCITED! Thanks everyone.

Things to be aware of:
One thing to be aware of is that Pomskies shed a lot of hair. Twice a year they enter a shedding period which lasts 90 days, so in other words they spend half of every year shedding their coats, and because their coats are so thick and long what seems like an enormous amount of hair can be shed from such a small dog. Another thing to be aware of is that Pomskies love to dig. If you don’t want your Pomsky digging up your garden, you’ll need to train it out of this.
So I’m not sure if this is the right breed, or cross-breed for a fashion blogger. So much hair, so many nice clothes… Yep their super cute, but consider the hair issue before you go for it. They are a handful and I’d hate to see you have to give it up.
Have fun!
Nope, clear choice. MALTIPOO!!! Not only are they cute, Maltipoos can be a good choice for first-time or timid owners. They’re easy to train and learn quickly. Careful, they bark, but you can train them out of it with care and attention.
The Poomsky looks likes Matt’s dog and the Maltipoo is sups yours. Matt’s looks like he’ll eat the other one. Just saying.
The pomsky is super cute 🙂
I remember being in the same position before I got my dog but at the end, I decided to go for a Pomsky because, yes, the Maltipoo is kind of a lap dog and doesn’t really like doing much exercise, but if you’re looking for a dog that will want to play and explore then you should probably go for the Pomsky like I did. I didn’t regret it one bit! ( Not saying that Maltipoo’s are lazy little dogs; some do actually like playing a lot! 🙂 )
Hey Rema. It’s nice to hear from someone who went through the process. I still haven’t made up my mind… Thanks!
