Moschino Soda Sweet Summer Memories
Summer has officially arrived…fashionably late…not unlike my peeps. Naturally I nonchalantly pass the time by taking outfit photos.
I am never one to stick around a party too long. Things get sloppy and dramatic quickly after Cindy pops that tequila and takes her top off, you know you’ve been there too long. It’s best to opt out while the evening is at it’s crescendo rather than when you’re explaining why you,ve climbed onto your neighbors balcony to a police officer.
However… summer is different. Holding onto it with white knuckles, is exactly how you want to celebrate every ounce of life-giving sunlight summer has to offer, until the bitter end and fall finally takes its icy hold. One way to make the party last is to be in the moment. Stop thinking about how cold winter will actually feel on your skin, stop placing yourself knee deep in slush while sleet pelts your head and wind blows right through your parka, it’s hot now…embrace that.
Some of my favorite things to do in the summer months: Grab some provisions (tip: whisky in the park sounds novel, but after you factor in ice, glasses and a cooler, you’re pretty encumbered. Go for light and easy to manage, unless of course you plan ahead) and head out to a park, or beach. Relax, chat about life and manage a tan. Through in a little ultimate Frisbee resulting in some grass stains on your at-the-knee shorts (if you’re following the trend, if not wear whatever length of short you want) and a barbecue to maximize your summer celebration. The long hot day’ll play out in your head when it us ACTUALLY winter and you’ll be glad you enjoyed your summer.
I’m bad for this, but catching live music is one of the best things to do through June to August especially if the venue is located outdoors. Suck up the overinflated ticket prices, and know that you’ll enjoy it once you’re sitting at Coachella or similar with everyone you like in attendance and a scotch on the rocks in your hand.
But remember to wear sunscreen!
And to keep hydrated and cool by wearing the right , bright materials. Though in fairness, the composition of the material means so much more than it’s color. Stick with linen, light Pima cotton and breathable knits. Bright colors just make you feel more “in season.”
Me? I’ll stick to bright and breathable.
What I’m Wearing:
