What Happens When Giles Deacon, Christian Louboutin and Philip Treacy Work Together To Dress Sarah Jessica Parker? One Word, Astonishing!
When I saw Sarah walking up those treacherous stairs at The Met Ball, I threw my hands up in the air and said YES! From her ferocious hat made to symbolize a mohawk (handmade by Philip Treacy for the event) I knew no one else could hold a flame to this look.
Since the purpose of the event is to launch the annual Costume Institute exhibit… (and look fab of course), I thought it only pertinent to tell you that the theme was “Punk: Chaos to Couture” and the theme was exaggerated by many a celebrity including the obvious “punk rockers” like Kristen Stewart, Gwen Stefani and Madonna but there were also some angelic beauties who got all punked out for the red carpet soiree including Anne Hathaway, Michelle Williams and Sienna Miller.
But none can compete with the incredible look that Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing. Her Giles Deacon digitally printed dress was a masterpiece from the way it was draped perfectly for her (perfect) figure to the way the colors in the print brought out her natural glowing skin was really top notch.
I’m sure wearing those tartan covered thigh-high’s weren’t as easy as they looked but if anyone could pull off these bad ass Louboutin’s it’s Carrie Bradshaw. Okay, I’m sorry but whenever I see her I always think Carrie… not Sarah… It will pass I’m sure when I meet her. Funny side note I just met Leonard Hofstadter from Big Bang Theory in London last week and I couldn’t even think of him as Johnny Galecki so I told him as much. He just laughed and said he gets that all the time. I’m sure so does Carrie… I mean Sarah!
Where and How to wear the look: This look can be worn at graduations, weddings and other cocktail events just ditch the hat and tone down the dress and shoes. Make sure to pick a print that is as bold as this one.
