Giuseppe Zanotti… Too Crazy… Or Not Crazy Enough, And What’s Next?
The famed accessories designer Giuseppe Zanotti has created an empire on a glitterati emblazoned shoe that’s glitz holds its own… however… will the polished gold be the piercing arrow of trendiness with staying power equivalent to that of a red sole? Or will we get tired of the near gaudy auriferous glint that we’ve come to associate with the brand?
It was recently announced that the Queen Bey, Yoncé herself will be teaming up with Zanotti to create one style that will amalgamate her millennial minions with the Zanotti stiletto supporters. Considering the heels and men’s shoes range from $350 for a flip-flop to almost $5000 for a crystal emblazoned suede boot, the luxury brand certainly has its fill of high priced styles… I wonder if the Beyoncé Zanotti heel will be priced near the same or lower? Furthermore… I wonder if Queen Bey will wear them in public? Here’s hoping they’re around $1000 and heel-less! Also that Jay-Z makes a men’s style!
But aside from the new collab, what are we thinking of the brand? Personally I enjoy them fiercely but I crave something new. I love the black and gold motif… then the white and gold motif… then the gold on gold motif… now I’m yearning for something a little more substantial or just substantially different. Maybe an all black wedge with a gold back curved to look like the G on the coveted Giuseppe signature? Oh Wait…
Okay but seriously no more gold… I am starting to feel like the “I Love Gold” villain on Gold Member. Glittering gilt is where it’s at but if that’s the only destination… well… I’m already starting to crave a different look.
Who knows, maybe the next season will deliver a basket weave fringe with multicolored leather strips and no metal embellishment at all? But then would it really resemble Zanotti, and would we still be zealous for the brand if its change was so sizable? Would you?
These are sexy on women. On men they kind of look douche bagy.
Expensive shoes for ladies of the night. Just saying.
Cool shoes but kind of difficult to pull off if you’re white dude.
In fairness he does do many styles, though they do often look alike, but that’s what he’s famous for. So if it works, it works.
Nope, $$$$ for some gold metallic finish, no thanks, there are so many alternatives.
