Tom Ford Spring 2012 Menswear Campaign
Tom Ford has always been a charismatic sex filled man with unabashed views on nudity and the female form so it is no wonder he chose to clothe his female model in his new men’s Spring 2012 look book in fragrance… that’s all. Of course this is a menswear ad campaign or look book and is supposed to feature the clothing on the guy. However when there is a slender (and I mean slender) model in the room the attention is diverted… and if that model happens to be full on naked then there adds a new dimension of distraction.
Since Tom Ford hates labels and neither thinks of himself as gay nor straight it makes sense to take sexual attraction from a female and sexual attraction from a male and place them respectfully in an ad. When you look through the pictures through the slideshow below you will notice that there are times that the modelling couple take turns being without clothing and when he is, there is direct contact with his body from the female model but when she bares all he barely stops reading his paper. Why?
I am only stating things as I see them and I really do love this ad but I am confused as to why the attention is focused on him throughout the editorial… OH! It’s a menswear campaign… I get it now. The steps of processing that occur while taking a boo at these images may be more obvious to some but since this is my blog you will just have to forgive the time it takes me to break down the thought process of Tom Ford and his sweet genius. What? I’m blond… at heart.
