Tom Ford Questions Shulman’s Sexual History.
Tom Ford, in love and in a very long term (25 years) relationship with partner Richard Buckley was on stage with British Vogue Editor, Alexandra Shulman at the British Vogue Festival when she brought up his advertising campaigns that involved him and other female models in sexual positions regardless of him being “very openly gay.” He responded by saying “I’m not gay, Alex! What made you think that?” in an upset tone.
Tom Ford seemed quite upset about the comment but when Shulman pointed to Richard Buckley implying that he was in fact gay, Tom blurted out “Yes, and he’s a man, but we don’t necessarily have to put boxes around everything. Have you ever slept with a woman, Alex?” She blushed and quickly shot out an embarrassed “No!” Her embarrassment was enough to cause quite the commotion and belly laughter from the audience of about 700+ people.
Was it all staged or was the tiff a real upset amongst speakers? Tom Ford later stated “I hate to use the words ‘gay’ and ‘straight’, and I think we’re all on some sort of sliding scale. Of course, I’m at the Richard Buckley end of the scale, but I hate that gay/straight thing.”
Though the purpose of the night wasn’t to discuss philosophy of attraction but the end result was entertaining for many and perhaps an eye opener for others.
OMG is she eating a bag of doughnut holes?
I think Tom Ford is a beautiful man. Richard is lucky!
