I’m in Love. I’m in Love with an Affordable Clothing Line! Hallelujah!
Day one of London has wrapped up and my favorite (though there were many great shows) was the Topman Design show. The pieces were wearable, the fabrics were well suited and the silhouettes were the stuff of fantasy; or… perhaps just my fantasies, but when you have a man’s skirt and a cropped parka in the same show, I am yours.
The cream coloured waist high parka, was matched with a suit and turtle-neck of the same colour. It was like taking a milk bath in fashion. Youthful and creamy.
On the other hand there was orange madness where parkas, sweaters, and wide-legged-wind-breaking-pants ruled and creamsicles were the flavor of choice. Topman made it clear which colors would be in this season and made no bones about it. Cream… Orange… Raspberry. The raspberry came later when one young bloke wore a skirt/kilt with a matching jacket and rugged boots and backpack. The bobbles on the straps of the backpack were a real twist to the look lending a utilitarian look to the ensemble.
If there ever was a time to throw on a skirt now is it! When mega brand Topman Design releases a one-legged pant… it’s time to get comfortable and wear the unbifurcated uniform… that means skirt. Or rather, the opposite of a garment split into two. I think wearing a skirt would be comfortable and it is clear the designers of such a garment feel it’s time to push it to the masses. Where do you stand on the fence?

Strange Interesting fact: Fashion and a decadent milk bath have something in common… they will both leave you looking beautiful… FACT!
